When I landed in Auckland this afternoon, the bio-security line was quite long. I made use of my time by planning a bit of my few days here, including making a reservation for dinner at a spot just a couple minutes walk from my Airbnb apartment. For years now, I’ve wanted to visit New Zealand, but it took a World Cup to get me to actually book the flights. Travel doesn’t always go as planned and I recently had one of those unexpected moments the night before I was scheduled to fly home from a month in Europe. Sticking around for a few days after @banskonomadfest gave us a bit of time to explore, and of course, we had to take the gondola up the mountain. Solo travel can be a bit tricky at times, but it can also be absolutely amazing. It’s not all sunshine and roses when you’re traveling and it’s important for those of us who do a lot of travel to point that out. When you find a hostel friend with a similar sense of humor and another friend from the hostel in your last city recommends an amusing restaurant, you have to go. Living my best window seat life with a double espresso on a rainy morning in Sighisoara, Romania.
